static/"absolute" sorting does not exist in foobar playlists afaik (potentially with a component I have not discovered, but by default, the 'item index' resets/renumbers itself when sorting via columns which has been a source of frustration) How can I export BPM, key, and playlists to applications like Traktor beaTunes can handle two kinds of music collections: iTunes/Music.app-based Folder-based If you are using an iTunes/Music.app-based collection, all playlists and BPM values are immediately reflected in iTunes/Music. file relocation (if files/folders move or are renamed) across dozens/hundreds of playlists itunes xml export of library & (static & smart) playlists Just the top 3 issues I had troubles with in foobar and haven't found good solutions for:

also the itunes xml hook is a helper as this can be read into DVS packages like Serat/Traktor/Rekordbox directly.

But, to each his own - I have a few hundred playlists, not counting internal MusicBee's Auto-/Smart-Playlists (which get automatically converted into m3u files & iTunes playlists as well when wanted/needed) I maintain as an archive for past radio shows, live sets I played, etc, and although do-able in foobar and I have done for years - I often had to write little python bits to work around the shortcomings when it comes to large amounts of playlists in foobar - and most of what I had little helper scripts for, MusicBee does out of the box or with a bit of configuration. but, when it comes to playlists there is/was issues for me for years. Not debating the awesomeness or the customizability of foobar. I just realy need an simple layout like in Itunes: Left all my Playlists and right the Songs.

I've installed foobar2000 but it seems too complicated for me. I'd like to hear some Electronic Music, with bright and dynamic mood, with female Vocals and faster then 110 BPM "BPM", "Vocals" (Male/Female, Language) ans so on, and create Dynamic Playlists. "Key", "Instrumentalisation" (Checkbox for "Instrumental" or "Digital/Electronic" Music - like in beatunes), My Focus is to Tag all my Music with Information like "Genre", "Mood", "Danceability", I'd love to create custom columns like "mood" or "danceability", furthermoreĬustom rating bars and maby an color-field. Organizing my Musicfiles, but the limited customation bothers me.

I love to Organize my Music and creating Playlists. This is not the software you're looking for.Im thinking about switching my Audio-Player from iTunes to foobar2000. BPMer told me there were errors but the log only had a list of every file scanned followed by "updated", "up-to-date" or "filtered due to genre". I hope you don't keep anything interesting in your comment tags if you use the demo version.Ĥ) The log file is almost entirely useless.

It's been a month or two and I'm still finding these occasionally.Ģ) Some files that had BPM data previously were left with no BPM data at all.ģ) Demo version over-writes comments in your tags saying that the BPM was determined by BPMer, and the pro version neglects to remove these. Sometimes it was all four fields, sometimes it was one.

Android would become something like nArdiod). Anything but this.ġ) Some files had their artist, album, title or genre field jumbled up (e.g. I'd say use Windows via Parallels and run MixMeister for a better solution. It didn't happen for me, and there's nothing to suggest it will happen for anyone else. Don't even hope that they'll respond to your e-mails. Don't even think about looking for a support forum, FAQ or list of common problems, either. It will leave your id3 tags a mess, and it won't even correctly add BPM data to all of the files it damages. This software bills itself as functional, but is anything but.
